Does anyone else feel like this?

So we're in February. We did a competition in January, and now March comp is feeling like FOREVER away! I am so keen to fix the errors, show our amended routines, and enjoy the weekend again with our family, I just can't wait!!! We have already decided that next season we will be doing more competitions, and we have been planning new teams with excitement. I kind of feel like I may actually be an addict!
Also, as a bow maker I am feeling a little defeated. Why is it that everyone wants AMAZING merch at rock bottom prices? I remember when I first started out making bows, and I wasn't the best, not even close. But I worked hard, researched and learnt how to be excellent. I pride myself on my product. I would never send something out I didn't think was perfect.
Now 13 years on and teams honestly expect the same quality for a price that matches 2013. This really is not sustainable. Everything has increased in price. The vinyl, the diamantes, the sublimation, the lycra. Whatever way you look at it, it costs more. Even the electric to power my machines has an insane price tag!
Another bow maker once said something to me that stuck, "nice bows aren't cheap and cheap bows aren't nice." This mantra seems to be lost on the cheer teams of today. ( I belong to one of them and trust me people think bows should be £5!) I started this business because I didn't want to pay the inflated prices at competitions for bows. I understand as a mummy, a cheer coach and a bow maker that it is important that pricing isn't misjudged. Cheap imports that will last a couple of competitions and then start falling apart are no substitute for something made with love and given the time it deserves. Please, when ordering bows think about the labour intensive task of creating them when they are done to last.
Anyway, tomorrow is another day and I am excited to see what it brings. If you want bows, or any other merch that is affordable and will last longer than the car journey to competition, get in touch, I am sure we can work something out!
